Who is this degree for?
All those who hold a master's degree or legal equivalent (namely a pre-Bolonha BSc degree), i.e. independently of the background or nationality, that demonstrate abilities for successfully completing the programme (namely basic methods skills and English proficiency).
Given the clear international pursuit of the Population Sciences programme, international students are most welcome. What are the admission criteria?
Your application will first be evaluated according to your:

CV (max. 5 pages) and academic achievement, including your most relevant scientific work (max. 3)

motivation letter
-
two reference letters
Upon succeeding at the first evaluation stage, you will be called for an

interview (in English) - online if you are not residing in Portugal

How to apply?
Applications are exclusively online.
If you do not have an ULisboa account, the first step is to create one here (you can change language to English). After registration you will receive a confirmation email in the email address you provided. Use the username and password created upon registration to login at FenixEdu@ISCSP. If you experience any troubles in this process, please contact jdoutoramentos@iscsp.ulisboa.pt and the staff will be happy to help you.
If you were a previous student of ULISBOA and have an ULisboa account, you can use those credentials to login to FenixEdu@ISCSP. Select the “Login ULisboa” button. Mantain the domain @edu.ulisboa.pt, and introduce your ULISBOA account username and password. If you don’t recall your password, you can recover it on the following link - https://utilizador.ulisboa.pt/UlisboaUsers/reset/forgotPassword - by introducing your username or email associated to your account.
When applying you have to submit:
o CV and electronic copies of your most relevant scientific work (Master dissertation and/or publications in a maximum of 3; these can be in Portuguese, English, Spanish, Italian or French - if any other language is used, send a translated version to Portuguese or English)
o Degree certificate (in Portuguese, English, Spanish, Italian or French; if any other language is used, an oficial translation to Portuguese or English is required)
o Motivation letter (in English), where you should also explain why you are applying for the PhD in Population Sciences
o Two names, and respective email addresses, of scholars, specialists or professionals to whom we can ask your reference letters (please make sure you ask them beforehand so that they are expecting our contact)
Your application will not be considered until we have received all the elements listed above. After submiting all the required documents you will be asked to pay an application fee of 100€ (one hundred Euros).
